Melrose Built is a growing Tier 2 commercial builder delivering multi-storey new builds and high-quality commercial projects across South-East Queensland. We are strengthening our site safety capability and are looking for a capable HSEQ Advisor who is ready to step into more responsibility and be mentored into a future HSEQ Manager.
If you want a role where you can be hands-on on site, influence culture, and also take ownership of our IMS and legislative updates, this is a genuine growth opportunity.
What you will do
- Support safety across new-build and multi-storey construction projects
- Conduct site inspections, audits and high-risk activity verifications
- Coach Site Managers, Foremen and trade partners in hazard ID and safe behaviours
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions through to close-out
- Own and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) including document updates
- Monitor changes to WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and ISO requirements and update systems accordingly
- Support the development and rollout of new HSEQ processes, tools and training
- Prepare safety reporting, insights and trends for leadership
- Support workers’ compensation, early intervention and RTW processes
- Be a visible, trusted and approachable safety presence on site
About you
- 5–10 years in construction HSEQ (Tier 2 or 3 preferred)
- Experience in new builds and multi-storey environments
- Diploma WHS (or Cert IV WHS with strong experience)
- Confident supporting high-risk activities and contractor safety
- Great communicator who builds rapport quickly with site teams
- Interested in systems, compliance and continuous improvement
- Keen to grow into a leadership role and eventually step into HSEQ Manager
- Practical, solutions-focused, and comfortable working across several sites
Why this role is different
- You will receive mentoring from senior leaders to build readiness for a future HSEQ Manager role
- You will own the IMS and help shape how safety is delivered across the business
- You will become the internal subject matter expert on legislative updates and ISO alignment
- You’ll get exposure to strategy, not just site inspections
- You’ll help build a high-performing safety culture from the ground up
Why join Melrose Built?
- Growing builder with a strong project pipeline
- Genuine opportunity to step into a leadership role
- Collaborative and supportive environment with no egos
- Role with influence and visibility across the business
- Ability to make meaningful improvements to systems, culture and compliance
- Access to extended leave options under our Melrose Leave framework
